Cold Start Injector Time Switch Test

  1. Unplug cold start injector time switch connector. For cold start injector time switch location, see appropriate illustration in THEORY/OPERATION article.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals "STA" & "STJ" at appropriate temperature. See Fig 1. Refer to COLD START INJECTOR TIME SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS TABLE. There should be continuity between terminal "STA" and ground. Replace switch if not within specification.
NOTE: "STA" terminal is fed current from ignition switch during cranking. "STJ" goes to cold start injector.

40-60 Above 104°F (40°C)
20-80 "STA" To Ground

25-45 Below 59°F (15°C)
65-85 Above 86°F (30°C)
25-85 "STA" To Ground
