Primary Coil Resistance Tests

  1. Disconnect ignition coil so it is isolated from remainder of system. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between coil positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. See Fig 1 or Fig 2.
  2. If primary resistance is not within specification, replace ignition coil. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is within specification, proceed to SECONDARY COIL RESISTANCE.
