ISSUE & TIP
An overheated EFI main relay connector may cause stalling problems on 1990-92 Toyota Landcruisers. The owner may complain that the vehicle will stall after driving, then will not restart until it has had a chance to cool down for a while.
On the vehicle I repaired, the EFI relay terminals were excessively discolored from heat. Due to engine vibration, the terminals in the connector may come loose, causing the voltage drop that produces the heat.
After changing the EFI relay, the problem was cured. Toyota also manufactures an updated wiring harness to correct this problem.
