Air Switching Valve (ASV)

  1. With engine operating at idle speed, disconnect vacuum hose from ASV. ASV is on left side fenderwell (front valve). Air should discharge from ASV. Reconnect vacuum hose.
  2. Check opening pressure of ASV relief valve. Disconnect air hose from check valve "A". Connect Air Pump Tester (09258-14010) to air hose. Disconnect vacuum hose from ASV and connect to vapor filter. See Figure.
  3. Block orifice on air pump tester with finger. Increase engine speed gradually and measure relief valve opening pressure. Opening pressure should be 5.7-8.5 psi (.40-.60 kg/cm2 ). Remove air pump tester. Reconnect vacuum hoses.
