Fuel Pump Resistor

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect fuel pump resistor electrical connector. See FUEL PUMP RESISTOR LOCATION  table.
    NOTE: Fuel pump resistor may also be identified using appropriate illustration in THEORY/OPERATION article. On Celica Turbo and MR2 Turbo, ensure proper resistor is checked, as fuel injector solenoid resistor is located near fuel pump resistor.
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between fuel pump resistor electrical terminals. See Fig 1. Replace fuel pump resistor if resistance is not about .73 ohm.
