DTC 13 - Rpm Signal

DTC 13 indicates a momentary interruption in the "G" or "NE" signal from IIA to ECM has occurred, but has returned to normal. Although this problem may not necessarily appear at the time of inspection, it cannot be ignored because trouble code has been output, indicating a malfunction in the "G" or "NE" signal has occurred.

Check IIA connector and "NE" terminal of ECM connector for following:

DTC 13 - RPM SIGNAL TROUBLE SHOOTING

DTC No. Detecting Condition(s) Trouble Area
13 No NE signal to ECM for 0.3 sec. or more at 1,500 RPM or more. Open/Short in NE circuit.
" No G signal to ECM while NE signal is input 4 times to ECM when engine speed is between 500 RPM and 4000 RPM. IIA, ECM
