Circuit Description

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is a thermistor built into the MAF sensor to monitor air temperature flowing through MAF sensor. Code is set when ECM detects a open or short circuit. ECM will operate in fail-safe mode if Code P0110 is set. Possible causes are:

IAT sensor open or short circuit.
IAT sensor malfunction.
ECM malfunction.

NOTE: If Codes P0110, P0115 and P0120 are output together, inspect ECM connector "E7" terminal No. 22 "E2" (ground) circuit. Repair as needed. See wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
