Camshaft Position Sensor: Calif.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector from camshaft position sensor, located on rear of cylinder head, just below valve cover. See Fig 1. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between electrical terminals on camshaft position sensor. See Fig 1.
  2. Replace camshaft position sensor if resistance is not 985-1600 ohms at 14-122°F (-10-50°C) and 1265-1890 ohms at 122-212°F (50-100°C). Reinstall electrical connector on camshaft position sensor.
