Camshaft Position Sensor Resistance: Tercel

Disconnect electrical connector from camshaft position sensor. Camshaft position sensor is located on end of cylinder head, just above the flywheel. See Fig 1-32. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between electrical terminals on camshaft position sensor.
Ensure camshaft position sensor resistance is within specification. See CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE table. Replace camshaft position sensor if resistance is not within specification. See REMOVE/INSTALL/OVERHAUL article. Reinstall electrical connector on camshaft position sensor.
