Stoplight Switch

  1. Disconnect stoplight switch harness connector. Check continuity between stoplight switch terminals No. 1 and 2. See Fig 1. Continuity should exist when brake pedal is depressed. Continuity should not exist when brake pedal is released.
  2. Check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 4. Continuity should exist when brake pedal is released. Continuity should not exist when brake pedal is depressed.
  3. If continuity is as specified, stoplight switch is okay. Replace stoplight switch if continuity is not as specified.
