Test No. 16: Stoplight Switch Circuit: Testing

  1. Check operation of stoplight switch. See STOPLIGHT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If stoplight switch operates properly, go to next step. If stoplight switch is defective, replace stoplight switch.
  2. Check for faulty connectors and wiring between stoplight switch and body ECU. Check for faulty connectors and wiring between stoplight switch and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Repair wiring or connectors as necessary. If connectors and wiring are okay, go to next test listed. See appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING SYMPTOMS table under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
