Test No. 2: Ignition Switch Power Source Circuit: Testing

  1. Check ECU-IG fuse (15-amp) and MIRR fuse (10-amp), both located in left junction block. If fuses are okay, go to next step. If either fuse is open, located and repair short circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Replace fuse(s).
  2. Disconnect body ECU harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between body ECU harness connector I21 terminals No. 4 and 2. See Figure. Measure voltage between body ECU harness connector I21 terminal No. 4 and connector I19 terminal No. 21. If voltage is 10-14 volts on both terminals, go to next test listed. See appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING SYMPTOMS table under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If voltage is not 10-14 volts on both terminals, go to next step.
  3. Check wiring and connectors between body ECU harness connector I21 terminal No. 4 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair ground circuit as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, repair wiring or connectors between battery and body ECU.
