Throttle Position Sensor: RAV4

  1. Note location of E2 terminal (Brown wire), VC terminal (Yellow wire) and VTA terminal (Blue/Red wire) on Throttle Position (TP) sensor. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector from TP sensor on throttle body. Disconnect vacuum hose and apply vacuum to throttle opener.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between specified terminals in relation to throttle position. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. Replace components as necessary if resistance is not within specification.

(1) Apply vacuum to throttle opener before checking TP sensor.
