Vehicle Access Code Registration
NOTE:
ADD mode allows new remote transmitters to be added (up to a maximum of 4). Attempting to register more than 4 remote transmitters will cause the first remote transmitter registered to be erased. CONFIRMATION mode is used to determine how many remote transmitters are currently registered. REWRITE mode erases previous codes on all remote transmitters and recodes them. PROHIBITION mode disables keyless door lock function by erasing all remote transmitter codes if all remote transmitters become lost or damaged.
- Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Open and unlock driver's door. Close and lock other doors. Go to next step.
- Complete sequence in 40 seconds or less. Insert and remove key from ignition switch, move inside door lock control switch from lock to unlock position 5 times in one-second intervals and close and open driver's door. Go to next step.
- Complete sequence in 40 seconds or less. Move inside door lock control switch from lock to unlock position 5 times in one-second intervals. Insert key into ignition switch. Turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position one time to put system in ADD mode. Turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position 2 times at about one-second intervals for REWRITE mode, 3 times for CONFIRMATION mode, or 5 times for PROHIBITION mode. Remove key from ignition switch and go to next step.
- Within 3 seconds of completing previous step, body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation to inform operator which mode has been selected. LOCK/UNLOCK operation is performed one time for ADD mode, 2 times at one-second intervals for REWRITE mode, 3 times for CONFIRMATION mode and 5 times for PROHIBITION mode.
- Complete sequence in 20 seconds or less. Depress any one of 3 remote transmitter buttons for more than one second. Body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK operation 1-4 times in 2-second intervals to inform operator the number of registered codes. If light flashes 5 times in 2-second intervals, no remote transmitters are registered. Depress any button on remote transmitter. If LOCK/UNLOCK operation occurs one time, registration of vehicle access code is completed.
- Registration procedure of vehicle access code will conclude if 4 types of recognition codes are registered at the same time, door lock control is not operated for more than 40 seconds, driver's door is closed or key is inserted in ignition switch.
