Power Window Master Switch Circuit Test: 4Runner

NOTE: 4Runner is equipped with 2 master switches (one 7-pin and one 14-pin). For the purpose of these tests, the 14-pin connector is used.

Disconnect power window master switch 14-pin connector. See Fig 1. Connect positive lead from battery to connector terminals No. 3 (Blue wire) and 10 (Blue/Red wire). Connect negative lead from battery to connector terminal No. 4 (White/Black wire). Check for continuity at switch. See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH CIRCUIT CONTINUITY TEST (4RUNNER) , POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH CIRCUIT VOLTAGE TEST (4RUNNER)  and POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH POWER SUPPLY TEST (4RUNNER)  tables. If results are not as specified, replace power window master switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH POWER SUPPLY TEST (4RUNNER)

10 Ignition Switch Position In LOCK Or ACC Position (1) No Voltage
10 Ignition Switch In ON Position battery voltage
(1) Voltage will be present for up to 45 seconds after ignition switch is turned to OFF position, or until driver or passenger door is opened.
