Power Mirror Switch

  1. Disconnect 10-pin electrical connector at power mirror switch. Power mirror switch is located on instrument panel, just to the left of steering column. Note switch identification and electrical terminal identification on power mirror switch. See Fig 1.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 8 and 9 on power mirror switch with adjustment switch in LEFT and RIGHT positions. Resistance should be 100 ohms with adjustment switch in LEFT position and zero ohms with adjustment switch in RIGHT position. If resistance is within specification, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, replace power mirror switch.
  3. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals No. 5 and 6 on power mirror switch. Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace power mirror switch.
  4. Place adjustment switch in LEFT or RIGHT position. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 7 and 9 on power mirror switch with control switch in UP, RIGHT, DOWN and LEFT positions. Ensure resistance is within specification in relation to control mirror switch position. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace power mirror switch if resistance is not within specification.
