Engine Idle Speed: Inspection

1. Air cleaner installed
2. All pipes and hoses of air induction system connected
3. All vacuum lines properly connected
4. EFI system wiring connectors fully plugged
5. All operating accessories switched OFF
6. Ignition timing check correctly
7. Transmission in parking range
8. Air conditioning switched OFF

1. Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.

2. Please refer to the TOYOTA hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

NOTE: At the accelerator opening angle of 60% or more, the engine speed is controlled at 2,250 rpm.
1. Race the engine at 2,250 rpm for approx. 90 seconds.
2. Check the idle speed.

   Idle speed (w/ Cooling fan OFF): 

   1,000 +/- 50 rpm 

If the idle speed is not as specified, check the air intake system.
