Headlight Control Switch

  1. Remove necessary steering column covers for access to headlight control switch. See Figure. Disconnect 13-pin electrical connector from headlight control switch.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check that no continuity and continuity between specified electrical terminals on headlight control switch in relation to headlight control switch position. See HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. See Fig 1. Replace headlight control switch if defective. See HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

    Switch Position Switch Terminals No. Specification
    OFF (1) (1)
    TAIL 10 & 13 Continuity
    HEAD 10 & 13; 11 & 12 Continuity
    LOW BEAM 8 & 11 Continuity
    HIGH BEAM 9 & 11 Continuity
    FLASH 9 & 11 Continuity
    (1) There should be no continuity between any terminals.
