Key Unlock Warning Switch

  1. Disconnect electrical connector for key unlock warning switch. Key unlock warning switch is located on upper steering column bracket, near ignition lock cylinder and contains a 2-pin electrical connector. See Figure. Key unlock warning switch may also be referred to as unlock switch or unlock warning switch.
  2. Connect ohmmeter between terminals on key unlock warning switch. Check that no continuity exists with ignition key removed from ignition lock cylinder. Check that continuity exists with ignition key installed in ignition lock cylinder. Replace key unlock warning switch if defective. See KEY UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
