Ignition Switch And Key Unlock Warning Switch: Inspection

  1. Inspect ignition switch continuity  :

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. Inspect key unlock warning switch continuity  :

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. Inspect key unlock warning system (inspect integration relay operation)  :
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3.

    2. Connect the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminals 4, 7 and 8.

    3. Check that the buzzer sounds.
    4. Disconnect the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 8.
    5. Check that the buzzer stops sounding.
    6. Connect the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and operate the buzzer sound again.

    7. Disconnect the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 4.
    8. Check that the buzzer stops sounding. If operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
  4. Inspect integration relay circuit  :
    1. Disconnect the connector from the integration relay and inspect the connectors on the wire harness side.

      If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.

    2. Remove the integration relay from the instrument panel junction block and inspect the connectors on the junction block side.

      If the circuit is as specified, try replacing the relay with a new one.

      If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
