Electric Tension Reducer System (Driver): Inspection
- INSPECT TENSION REDUCER SOLENOID OPERATION
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
- Pull the belt upward and check that the belt is slowly retracted when released.
- Disconnect the lead from the battery.
- Pull the belt upward and check that the belt is retracted more quickly when released than in step b.
NOTE: Do not tilt the retractor.If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt assembly.
CAUTION: Must not charge the connector terminal of the pretensioner. The pretensioner may work resulting in an unexpected injury. - Driver's side:
INSPECT BUCKLE SWITCH CONTINUITY
- Check that continuity exists between terminals 1 and 3 on the switch side connector with the switch ON (belt fastened).
- Check that no continuity exists between terminals 1 and 2 on the switch side connector with the switch OFF (belt unfastened).
- Check that no continuity 1 and 2 (belt fastened).
- Check that continuity 1 and 2 (belt unfastened).
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.
