Adjust Shift Lever Operation
- Remove the steering column lower cover, see step 4 of REMOVAL , and INSTRUMENT LOWER FINISH PANEL RH.
- Shift into the P position.
- Loosen the control cable adjusting nut.
- Release the parking brake and push the vehicle back and forth to check that it does not move.
After the check, depress the brake pedal.
- While pushing the shift lever toward P range side, lightly pull the rod of the control cable once and release it.
- While pushing the shift lever toward P range side, tighten the adjusting part of the control cable.
- Install the steering column lower cover, see step 14 of INSTALLATION , and INSTRUMENT LOWER FINISH PANEL RH.
