Input Shaft Oil Seal: Replacement

  1. Remove hybrid transaxle with engine  . See REMOVAL .
  2. Separate transaxle and engine  . See  3Separate Hybrid Transaxle And Engine  .
  3. CAUTION: When using a screwdriver to drive in or pry out, be careful not to damage the input shaft and transaxle housing.

  4. Remove input shaft oil seal  .

    Using a flat-head screwdriver and a hammer, drive the screwdriver tip into the part shown in Fig 1 and pry it out.

  5. NOTE: Drive in the oil seal unit SST comes into contact with the case.

  6. Using SST and a hammer, install a new input shaft oil seal.  . SST 09388-40010.

    Oil seal depth: 1 - 1.5 mm (0.039 - 0.059 in.)  .

  7. Install transaxle to engine  . See INSTALLATION .
  8. Install transaxle and engine to vehicle  . See INSTALLATION .
