How To Proceed With Troubleshooting: Notes

Carry out troubleshooting in accordance with following procedures.

  1. Customer problem analysis 
    1. Ask the customer about the conditions and environment when the problem occurred.
  2. Symptom confirmation and DTC (and freeze frame data) check 
    1. Check the battery positive voltage.

      Voltage: 10 - 14 V (Engine stopped) 

    2. Visually check the wire harness, connectors and fuses for open and short, etc.
    3. Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature.
    4. Confirm the problem symptoms and conditions, and check the DTCs.

    OK : Go to step   4 

    NG : Go To Next Step 

  3. DTC chart 
    1. Check the results obtained in step  2, then confirm the inspection procedure for the system or the part which should be checked using the DTC chart.

    Go to step   5 

  4. Problem symptoms chart 
    1. Check the results obtained in step  2, then confirm the inspection procedure for the system or the part which should be checked using the problem symptoms table.
  5. Circuit inspection or parts inspection 
    1. Confirm the circuit for the system or the part which should be checked using the problem symptoms table or the results obtained in step  3.
  6. Repair 
    1. Repair the affected system or part.
  7. Confirmation test 
    1. After completing repairs, confirm that the problem has been solved.

    (If the problem does not reoccur, perform a confirmation test under the same conditions and in the same environment as when it occurred for the first time.)
