Fail-Safe Mode Chart

If any of the following codes are recorded, the ECM enters into the fail-safe mode. See IDENTIFYING FAIL-SAFE MODE CODES  table.

IDENTIFYING FAIL-SAFE MODE CODES

DTC No. Fail-Safe Operation Fail-Safe Deactivation Conditions
P0037, P0038, P0135 & P0155 Abnormal Heater Circuit Turned Off Ignition Switch OFF
P0100 Ignition Timing Is Fixed At 10° BTDC Returned To Normal Condition
P0110 Intake Air Temperature Is Fixed At 68°F (20°C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Is Fixed At 176°F (80°C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0120 VTA Is Fixed At 0° VTA Is Greater Than Or Equal To 0.1 V & Less Than Or Equal To 0.95 V, SPD is 0 MPH (Km/h) & Repeats At Least 2 Times Consecutively
P0325 & P0330 Max. Timing Retardation Ignition Switch OFF
P0351 - P0356 Fuel Cut Returned To Normal Condition
