Brush Holder Assembly Test
- Using vernier calipers, measure the brush length. See Fig 1. Verify brush length is within specification. See STARTER SPECIFICATIONS . If the length is less than minimum, replace the brush holder and starter yoke assembly.
- Using an ohmmeter, Verify that there is no continuity between the positive and negative brush holders. See Fig 1. If the there is continuity repair or replace the starter commutator end frame assembly.
