NOTE: Before performing any diagnostic test, see SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM for diagnostic system functions and system diagnostic procedures. For location of emission related components, see Fig 1. Also check for any related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs).

NOTE: To identify circuits and wire colors referenced in testing, see ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. To identify ECM terminals referenced in testing, refer to illustration. See Fig 2.
