Input Shaft Oil Seal: Replacement

  1. REMOVE HYBRID TRANSAXLE WITH ENGINE (See  TRANSAXLE DISASSEMBLY  , or  COMPONENT DISASSEMBLY & REASSEMBLY  ) 
  2. SEPARATE TRANSAXLE AND ENGINE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE INPUT SHAFT OIL SEAL 

    Using a flat-head screwdriver and a hammer, drive the screwdriver tip into the part shown in and pry it out Fig 1.

    CAUTION: When using a screwdriver to drive in or pry out, be careful not to damage the input shaft and transaxle housing.

  4. INSTALL INPUT SHAFT OIL SEAL 

    Using SST and a hammer, install a new input shaft oil seal.

    SST 09388-40010

    Oil seal depth:  1 - 1.5 mm (0.039 - 0.059 in.)

    HINT:

    Drive in the oil seal unit SST comes into contact with the case.

  5. INSTALL TRANSAXLE TO ENGINE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL TRANSAXLE AND ENGINE TO VEHICLE (See  TRANSMISSION REASSEMBLY  , and  INSTALLATION  )
