Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Read freeze frame data using the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was running or stopped, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

1. Are there any other codes (besides DTC P2111) being output? 
   1. YES : Go to relevant DTC chart (See  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ). 
   2. NO : Go to Next Step 
2. Visually check throttle valve. 

   PREPARATION: 

   Remove the intake air connector.

   CHECK: 

   Check whether or not a foreign body has been caught between the throttle valve and the housing.

   Also, check if the valve can open and close smoothly.

   1. NG : Replace throttle control motor (See  REPLACEMENT  ). 
   2. OK : Go to Next Step 
3. Are there DTC P2111 being output again? 
   1. YES : Replace ECM (See  ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)  ). 
   2. NO : Check for intermittent problems (See  PRE-CHECK  ).
