Back Door Glass: Replacement
NOTE:
Installation is in the reverse order of the removal.
- REMOVE BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSY UPPER OUTER
- Remove the 2 nuts and rear stoplight cover.
- Using a torx wrench (T30), remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the 4 nuts.
- Remove the hose.
- Using a knife, cut off the adhesive tape as shown in Fig 3 .
- Remove the back door panel upper outer, and then disconnect the clamp.NOTE: Do not damage the back door glass with the knife.
- REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM ASSY (W/ RR WIPER) (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP (W/ RR WIPER) (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE W/WASHER PACKING NUT REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT (W/ RR WIPER) (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE RR WIPER MOTOR COVER (W/ RR WIPER) (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY (W/ RR WIPER) (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS
- Using a screwdriver, remove the back door stay from the back door panel.NOTE:
While supporting the back door by hand, remove the back door stay.
- Remove the back door stay bolt No.1, back door stay retainer and back door stay packing No.2 from back door glass.NOTE:
A: Back door stay bolt No.1
B: Back door stay packing No.2
C: Back door stay packing No.1
D: Back door stay retainer
E: Back door glass
- Remove the 4 nuts and back door glass.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the back door stay from the back door panel.
- REMOVE BACK DOOR HINGE ASSY RH
- Remove the 2 nuts, window glass spacer No.1, back door hinge male pad and back door glass from the back door hinge assembly RH.
- REMOVE BACK DOOR HINGE ASSY LH
- INSTALL BACK DOOR GLASS
Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSY UPPER OUTER
- If reusing the back door panel upper outer.
Clean the back door panel upper outer.
- Remove the adhesive tape from the back door panel upper outer.
- Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
- Apply new adhesive tape to the back door panel upper outer as shown in Fig 7 .
- Install the back door panel upper outer with the 4 screws and 4 nuts.
- If reusing the back door panel upper outer.
