Mass Air Flow (MAF) Meter: Inspection
- DISCONNECT MAF METER CONNECTOR
- REMOVE MAF METER
Remove the 2 screws and MAF meter.
- INSPECT MAF METER
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals THA and E2.

Resistance:
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION-20°C (-4°F) 13.6 to 18.4 Ω 20°C (68°F) 2.21 to 2.69 Ω 60°C (140°F) 0.49 to 0.67 Ω If the resistance is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.
- Inspect operation.
- Connect the MAF meter connector.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Using a voltmeter, connect the positive (+) tester probe to terminal VG, and negative (-) tester probe to terminal E2G.
- Blow air into the MAF meter, and check that the voltage fluctuates.
If operation is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
- Disconnect the MAF meter connector.

- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals THA and E2.
- REINSTALL MAF METER
Install the MAF meter with the 2 screws.
- RECONNECT MAF METER CONNECTOR
