Throttle W/Motor Body ASSY (2GR-FE): Replacement

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (SEE  COOLANT (2GR-FE)  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. SEPARATE WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle w/motor body assy.

  6. REMOVE THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the throttle w/motor body assy connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and throttle w/motor body assy from the intake airsurge tank.
    3. Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake air surge tank.

  7. INSTALL THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSY 
    1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake air surge tank.

    2. Install the throttle w/motor body assy and wire harness clamp stay to the intake air surge tank with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

    3. Connect the throttle w/motor body assy connector.
  8. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle w/motor body assy.

  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (SEE  COOLANT (2GR-FE)  ) 
  12. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (SEE  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SEE  INITIALIZATION  ) 

    Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the battery terminal.

  15. CHECK FUNCTION OF THROTTLE BODY (SEE  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
