Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve: Inspection

  1. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) 
    1. Remove the suspension upper brace.
    2. Remove the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
    3. Disconnect the OCV connector.
    4. Remove the bolt and OCV.
    5. Remove the O-ring from the OCV.

  2. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) OPERATION 

    Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check the movement of the valve.

    If the operation is not as specified, replace the OCV.

  3. REINSTALL CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the OCV.
    2. Install the OCV with the bolt.

      Torque: 9 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) 

    3. Connect the OCV connector.
    4. Install the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
    5. Install the suspension upper brace.
