Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and V-bank cover.
  3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 
    1. Disconnect the 3 hoses.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts.
    3. Loosen the 2 clamp bolts and remove the intake air connector.
  4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.

  5. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.
