Engine Control System - System And Component Testing: ECM: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE GLOVE BOX COMPARTMENT DOOR 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and glove compartment door.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 FINISH PANEL LOWER 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and No. 2 finish panel lower.

  4. REMOVE ECM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 5 ECM connectors.
    2. Remove the 3 screws and ECM.
