Knock Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Install the 2 knock sensors with the 2 nuts as shown in Fig 1 .

      Torque: 20 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 knock sensor connectors.

  2. INSTALL WATER OUTLET 
    1. Install 2 new gaskets to the 2 cylinder heads.
    2. Install the water outlet together with the No. 1 water by-pass hose and unlock the hose clamp.
    3. Tighten the 2 bolts, the 2 nuts and 2 washers.

      Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the clamp.
    5. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
    6. Connect the radiator reserve tank hose.
    7. Connect the radiator hose inlet.
  3. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 

    Torque: 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Install the intake manifold with the 9 bolts and the 2 nuts. Using several steps, tighten the bolts and the nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in Fig 2 .

    2. Retighten the 2 bolts and 2 nuts of the water outlet.

      Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Retighten the water outlet mounting bolts and nuts.

      Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the ground cable with the nut.

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the heater water inlet hose B.
    6. Connect the No. 1 fuel pipe.
      1. Push in the fuel tube connector to the pipe until fuel tube connector makes "click" sound.
        NOTE:
        • Check if there is any damage or foreign objects on the connected part.
        • After connecting, check if the connector and the pipe are securely connected by pulling on them.

      2. Install the EFI fuel pipe clamp.
  5. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SET (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  8. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  9. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKAGE 

    (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

  10. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE 

    (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

  11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  12. INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTER FRONT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. INSTALL NO. 1 COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE INNER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY 
  16. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  17. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  18. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
