Fuel Tank: Installation
- INSTALL FUEL HOSE
- INSTALL FUEL INLET HOSE
- INSTALL FUEL PUMP AND SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
- Set up the fuel tank on the transmission jack.
- Operate the transmission jack so that the fuel pump and sender gauge connector and 2 clamps can be installed. Then raise the mission jack again to install the fuel tank.
- Install the 2 fuel tank bands with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)
- Connect the fuel main tube, return tube and fuel hose.

- Check that there is no damage or contamination in the connected part of the pipe.
- Align the axis of the connector with the axis of the pipe. Push the pipe into the connector until the connector makes a "click" sound. If the connection is tight, apply a little amount of fresh engine oil on the tip of the pipe.
- After having finished the connection, try to pull apart the pipe and the connector and confirm that they are securely connected.
- w/ Fuel hose connector cover type:
Attach the lock claws to the connector by pushing down on the cover as shown in Fig 6.
- Connect the fuel inlet hose to the fuel inlet pipe.
- Tighten the bolt of the clamp.
Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)
- CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
- Install the bracket to the body with the bolt.
Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
- Install the bracket to the fuel tank band with the bolt.
Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
- Install the bracket to the body with the bolt.
- CONNECT VENT LINE TUBE
- Connect the vent line tube to the fuel tank.
- CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform INITIALIZATION
.NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
