Fuel Tank: Removal
- DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- DISCONNECT VENT LINE TUBE
- Disconnect the vent line tube from the fuel tank.
- DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
- Remove the bolt and bracket from the fuel tank band.
- Remove the bolt and bracket from the body.
- REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the fuel main tube, return tube and fuel tube.

- w/ Fuel hose connector cover type:
Disengage the lock claw by lifting up the cover as shown in Fig 5.
- Check for dirt or mud on the pipe and around the connector before disconnection. Clean if necessary.
- Disconnect the connector and pipe by hand.
- If the connector and the pipe stuck, pinch the connector, and push and pull the pipe to disconnect it.

NOTE: Do not use any tools. - Check for dirt or mud on the seal surface of the disconnected pipe. Clean if necessary.
- To protect the disconnected pipe and connector from damage and contamination, cover it with a plastic bag.
- w/ Fuel hose connector cover type:
- Loosen the bolt of the clamp and disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the fuel inlet pipe.
- Set up a transmission jack under the fuel tank.
- Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 fuel tank bands from the fuel tank.
- Slightly lower the mission jack so that the fuel pump and sender gauge connector and 2 clamps can be removed.
NOTE: Do not lower the mission jack excessively as this may damage the connector.
- Operate the transmission jack and remove the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the fuel main tube, return tube and fuel tube.
- REMOVE FUEL PUMP AND SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FUEL INLET HOSE
- REMOVE FUEL HOSE
