Steering Angle Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Install the steering angle sensor to the spiral cable.
    NOTE:
    • Engage the claws securely.
    • Do not damage the claws.

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE (See  INSPECTION  ) 
  3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  4. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE (See  INSPECTION  ) 
  5. CENTER SPIRAL CABLE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL STEERING PAD (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSPECT STEERING PAD (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
    • Make sure that the cable has been disconnected from the battery terminal for at least 2 seconds before reconnecting the cable.
    • Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal with the front wheels facing straight ahead.
  11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  )
