Vehicle Stability Control System: Calibration
- DESCRIPTION
- After replacing the VSC relevant components or performing "Front wheel alignment adjustment", clear and read the sensor calibration data.
- Follow the chart to perform calibration.
COMPONENTS OPERATION CHARTReplacing Parts/Operation Necessary Operation ABS & TRACTION Actuator Assembly (Skid Control ECU) Yaw rate sensor and acceleration sensor zero point calibration. Yaw Rate Sensor (Acceleration Sensor) - Clearing zero point calibration data.
- Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
Front Wheel Alignment Adjustment - Clearing zero point calibration data.
- Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
- CLEAR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (WHEN USING TECHSTREAM:)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Operate Techstream to erase the codes (select "RESET MEMORY").
HINT:
Refer to the Techstream operator's manual for further details.
- Using Techstream, perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor.
- PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE SENSOR AND ACCELERATION SENSOR (WHEN USING TECHSTREAM:) NOTE:
- While obtaining the zero point, do not vibrate the vehicle by tilting, moving or shaking it and keep it in a stationary condition. (Do not start the engine.)
- Be sure to do this on a level surface (with an inclination of less than 1 degree).
- Procedures for test mode.
- Check that the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position and move the shift lever to the P position.NOTE: DTC C1210/36 and C1336/39 will be recorded if the shift lever is not in the P position (See DTC C1210/36 ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE SENSOR UNDONE; DTC C1336/39 ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF ACCELERATION SENSOR UNDONE ).
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Set Techstream to test mode (select "TEST MODE").
HINT:
Refer to Techstream operator's manual for further details.
- Check that the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position and move the shift lever to the P position.
- Obtain the zero point of the yaw rate sensor and acceleration sensor.
- Keep the vehicle in the stationary condition on a level surface for 2 seconds or more.
- Check that the VSC warning light is blinking in TEST MODE.
HINT:
- If the VSC warning light does not blink, perform zero point calibration again.
- The zero point calibration is performed only once after the system enters the test mode.
- Calibration cannot be performed again until the stored data is cleared once.
- Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect Techstream.
- CLEAR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Using SST, connect and disconnect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3 four times or more within 8 seconds.
SST 09843-18040
- Check that the VSC warning light indicates the normal system code.
- Remove the SST from the terminals of the DLC3.
- Using a check wire, perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor.
- PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE SENSOR AND ACCELERATION SENSOR NOTE:
