Engine Control System (2GR-FE): ECM: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: If the cable is disconnected, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ECM
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Separate the ECM from the body.NOTE: When separating the ECM, do not apply excessive force to the wire harness.
- Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE: After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connections of the connectors.
- Remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
