Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION  ).
  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SKID CONTROL BUZZER) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the following menu items: Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC/ Active Test

      Select the "VSC H/B Warning Buzzer" in the Active Test and operate the skid control buzzer on the Techstream.

      ACTIVE TEST: ABS/VSC/TRAC 

      ABS/VSC/TRAC ACTIVE TEST REFERENCE

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic note
      VSC H/B Warning Buzzer Skid control buzzer Skid control buzzer ON or OFF Buzzer can be heard
    4. Check that the buzzer sounds/stops when the skid control buzzer is turned on/off by using the Techstream.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Buzzer does not sound or sounds constantly A
      Buzzer sounds/stops B

    B: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS  (See CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS  )

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A6-2 (IG1) - Body ground 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.

    3. Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2 of the skid control buzzer connector, and check that the buzzer sounds.

      OK: 

      The skid control buzzer sound should be heard. 

    NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    3. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
    4. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A4-30 (BZ) - A6-1 (BZ) Below 1 Ω
      A4-30 (BZ) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID  (See DISASSEMBLY )
