REAR SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD): Installation

HINT:

  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Clean the contact surface between the rear axle hub and bearing assembly and a new rear speed sensor.
      NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor rotor.
    2. Place the rear speed sensor on the rear axle hub and bearing assembly so that the connector is positioned at the bottom when the sensor is installed on the vehicle.

    3. Using SST, steel plates and a press, install a new speed sensor to the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      SST 09214-76011 

      NOTE:
      • Keep the rear speed sensor away from magnets.
      • Do not use a hammer to install the rear speed sensor.
      • Check that there is no foreign matter such as iron chips on the detecting portion of the rear speed sensor.
      • Slowly press the rear speed sensor in straight.
  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH REAR SPEED SENSOR (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH REAR SPEED SENSOR (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )

  4. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See REMOVAL )
  5. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See REMOVAL )
  6. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  7. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  8. INSTALL REAR DISC (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See REASSEMBLY )
  9. INSTALL REAR DISC (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See REPLACEMENT )
  11. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See REPLACEMENT )
  12. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) 
    1. Connect the rear speed sensor wire connector to the rear speed sensor.

  15. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension) 
    1. Connect the rear speed sensor wire connector to the rear speed sensor.
  16. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL  (See PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM )
  17. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM )

  18. INSPECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER OPERATION LEVER AND STOPPER CLEARANCE (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  19. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE AND PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  20. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  21. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  22. INSTALL FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)  (See INSTALLATION )
  23. INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT 

    (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )

  24. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
