Fuel Pump: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

  2. REMOVE FUEL PUMP 
    1. Release the claw and disconnect the fuel pump filter hose.

    2. Remove the E-ring and separate the 2 claws, then remove the fuel pump sub-tank.
      NOTE: Do not separate the tube indicated in the illustration (See FUEL SYSTEM ).

    3. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
      NOTE: Do not damage the wire harness.

    4. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel suction support.

    5. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws, and remove the fuel pump filter and fuel pump from the fuel filter.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the fuel pump filter.
      • Do not remove the suction filter.
      • Do not use either the fuel pump or the suction filter if the suction filter is removed from the fuel pump.

    6. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.

    7. Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump.
