Fuel Injector: Removal

DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
1. Discharge fuel system pressure (See FUEL SYSTEM ).
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE (See REMOVAL )

REMOVE ENGINE WIRE
1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the ground wire.
2. Disconnect the 4 fuel injector assembly connectors.
3. Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps.

4. Disconnect the 4 wire harness clamps.

5. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness brackets.

DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp (Type A).

2. Remove the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp (Type B).

3. Using SST, disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly.

REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the bolt and remove the wire harness bracket.

2. Remove the 2 bolts.

3. Remove the bolt and the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

4. Remove the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers.

REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
1. Pull the 4 fuel injector assemblies out of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

2. For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to the injector shaft.
  NOTE: Prevent entry of foreign objects by covering the fuel injector with a plastic bag.

3. Remove the 4 injector vibration insulators.
