Engine Control System (2AZ-FE): ECM: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the 2 ECM brackets onto the ECM with the 4 screws.

    2. Install the ECM with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

    3. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.
      1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.
        NOTE:
        • When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not get caught between the connectors and other parts.
        • Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.

    4. Install the wire harness clamp.
  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT:

    Initialization cannot be completed by only removing the cable from the battery.

    1. Perform Reset Memory (AT initialization) when replacing the ECM. (for Automatic Transaxle)

      HINT:

    2. Perform Registration (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM (See REGISTRATION ).
