Knock Sensor: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See COOLANT )
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE
- Remove the dipstick.
- Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
- Remove the bolt and dipstick guide.
- REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the ventilation hose from the throttle with motor body.
- Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.
- Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.
- Disconnect the water by-pass hose.
- Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.
- Disconnect the throttle control motor connector.
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- Disconnect the 3 wire harness clamps.
- Disconnect the connector clamp.
- Remove the bolt and harness clamp bracket.
- Remove the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the hose clamp.
- Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
- Remove the gasket from the cylinder head.
- REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
- Remove the nut and sensor.
