Engine Control System (Service Information): ECM: Removal: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
If the cable is disconnected, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
- REMOVE ECM
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Separate the ECM from the body.
NOTE:
When separating the ECM, do not apply excessive force to the wire harness.
- Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE:
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connections of the connectors.
- Remove the ECM.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
