Fail-Safe Chart

HINT: 

The pre-collision system fail-safe function and details are indicated in the table below.

Cause PCS Warning Indicator Fail-safe Operation Conditions to Return to Normal Condition
A malfunction exists in part of pre-collision system Blinking Depending on malfunctioning part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating Repair malfunctioning part
Radiator grille or millimeter wave radar sensor is dirty On Depending on dirty part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating*2 Clean radiator grille or millimeter wave radar sensor
Millimeter wave radar sensor cannot detect possible collision object because of bad weather, such as snow On Depending on dirty part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating*2 The weather becomes better
Overheating prevention function of seat belt control ECU operates*1 On Pre-collision seat belt may stop operating Temperature of seat belt goes down, and seat belt control ECU becomes operative

*1: The overheating prevention function operates when the seat belt control ECU detects a rise in seat belt temperature because of excessive seat belt operation.

*2: The pre-collision seat belts operate when sudden braking is detected. The pre-collision seat belts operate when skidding is detected.
