Fail-Safe Chart
HINT:
The pre-collision system fail-safe function and details are indicated in the table below.
| Cause | PCS Warning Indicator | Fail-safe Operation | Conditions to Return to Normal Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| A malfunction exists in part of pre-collision system | Blinking | Depending on malfunctioning part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating | Repair malfunctioning part |
| Radiator grille or millimeter wave radar sensor is dirty | On | Depending on dirty part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating*2 | Clean radiator grille or millimeter wave radar sensor |
| Millimeter wave radar sensor cannot detect possible collision object because of bad weather, such as snow | On | Depending on dirty part, pre-collision seat belt, pre-collision brake or brake assist system may stop operating*2 | The weather becomes better |
| Overheating prevention function of seat belt control ECU operates*1 | On | Pre-collision seat belt may stop operating | Temperature of seat belt goes down, and seat belt control ECU becomes operative |
*1: The overheating prevention function operates when the seat belt control ECU detects a rise in seat belt temperature because of excessive seat belt operation.
*2: The pre-collision seat belts operate when sudden braking is detected. The pre-collision seat belts operate when skidding is detected.
