Knock Sensor: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 1
  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE  See step  3
  5. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector and the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    2. Separate the wire harness clamp and remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

    3. Separate the 2 hoses.

    4. Separate the ventilation hose.

    5. Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.

    6. Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.

    7. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with throttle body.

    8. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  6. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and remove the knock sensor.
